Campfire Endurance Coaching · Bend, OR

Coaching the Entire Athlete to Excellence.

Chris has coached for seventeen years, raced professionally for fifteen, and trains athletes the way he wishes he'd been coached: considering not just the physical side of performance, but also an athlete's intellectual and emotional capabilities.

"His holistic approach paired with his physical training plans are unmatched." — Sara, 15-minute PR in second race coached

Who this is for

Wherever you're starting, pull up a seat.

Most athletes fall into one of three spots. We built a way in for each of them — no judgment about which one is you.

01

New to structured training

Nobody's ever explained the why behind a workout. We start there, in plain language, before we ever talk numbers.

02

Stuck in the grey zone

You train hard and nothing moves. Too hard to be easy, too easy to be hard — we teach you to escape it, then use it on purpose.

03

Ready to go deeper

You've outgrown a generic plan or an app and want a coach who knows your whole story, not just your last workout.

How we coach

The Campfire Triangle

How we train every aspect of you — not just your body — to achieve endurance mastery.

COMMUNITY COMPETITORS COMRADES PHYSICAL EMOTIONAL INTELLECTUAL Mastery Spiritual — the whole athlete

Physical

Training, testing, progression, strength, mobility, rest.

Emotional

What are feelings? How do they affect you athletically? How do you work with them, not against them?

Intellectual

Tactics and pacing, goals, energy management, focus, planning, equipment and tools.

When you learn how to use all three of these tools, you feel in control of your sport — we call that mastery.

The Campfire Way

A proven process, not a personality cult.

Six steps, repeated every season. It's the same process whether you're brand new or building toward Kona — the depth changes, the process doesn't.

01

Meet You Where You Are

No judgment about your starting point — ever.

02

Learn to Train

Understand the why, not just the workout.

03

Know Your Numbers

Testing brings relief — we interpret it with you.

04

Train to Train

The emotional practice that actually moves the needle.

05

Train to Race

You become the driver. That's the point.

06

Reset & Reflect

The loop that keeps athletes with us for years.

Why the Campfire

Leave no stone unturned.

Endurance sport looks physical. It is — and then it becomes a conversation with your mind and your heart, too. That's the Campfire Triangle at work: physical, intellectual, and emotional, all three, all the time. That's how you reach performances you never thought possible, and why athletes stay with us for years, not seasons.

"Being fast won't make you happy, but being happy will make you fast."
